FINE ART EXHIBITION

Fifty nationally juried artists display their masterpiece works for your viewing pleasure in 13 different media categories including: ceramics, digital art, drawing, fiber, glass, graphics and printmaking, jewelry, metal-works, mixed media, painting, photography, sculpture and wood. The art show is ongoing throughout the weekend and is free to the public.

CELEBRITY CHEF DEMONSTRATIONS

Chef demos take place each day in the Center Stage Tent. Enjoy (& sometimes taste!) entertaining, exciting and informative demos and watch local, regional and celebrity Chefs exhibit how to prepare their renowned dishes. 2008 celebrity chefs include Ilan Hall, Top Chef Season 2 Winner, as well as Betty Frasier of Top Chef Season 2. Completing our celebrity roster is MaryAnne Esposito of the PBS cooking show, "Ciao Italia." Local and regional chef celebrities include Bob Schorner (Allreds, Mountain Village), Kelly Patton & Dana Mackey (9545, Mountain Village), Allejandro Barreda (Las Montanas, Telluride), Troy Guard (TAG, Denver) and Elise Wiggins (Panzano's, Denver). Note: A special “Tapas and Tequila” interactive workshop takes place 11:00am August 16 at the Telluride Conference Center; all other demos are at the Center Stage Tent.

PROGRESSIVE TASTING SERIES

Provides guests the opportunity to experience the culinary side of Telluride and Mountain Village. Guests, in small groups, will be led on an intimate culinary journey through some of the finest local restaurants. At each location, guests will be presented with a specially created dish and chef-selected wine pairing highlighting the finest cuisine each restaurant has to offer. The finale of your Progressive Tasting Series will be an Ultimate Martini Workshop – learning exactly what it takes to make the perfect cocktail – concluding your exciting evening in good “spirits”.

Offers a variety of the best vodkas for your martini tasting. Join the knowledgeable and entertaining bar masters as they walk you through the art of martini making, ranging from classic to creative.

RIEDEL STEMWARE INTERACTIVE WORKSHOP

Tommy Leman of Riedel Crystal of America will guide you through a flight of wine tasting that will prove the glass really does make a difference. Tommy will educate you on how Riedel wine glasses are made for each specific wine varietal. You will then be treated to an amazing tasting. Guests will taste a Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and a Cabernet Sauvignon in an ordinary, everyday wine glass. Next, you will taste the same wines in a Riedel glass that has been designed for that specific varietal. After the seminar, you get to take a four (4) glass set of Riedel Vinum glasses home with you. The retail value of the set of glasses is over $100. This seminar is limited to thirty (30) participants, so register early to guarantee your tickets.

GRAND TASTING

The Grand Tasting is the signature event of the festival weekend. At this event, guests stroll around the plazas of Mountain Village, enjoying a showcase of culinary creations from leading culinary establishments in Telluride and Mountain Village. Chefs from each of these restaurants will prepare fresh samples of their favorite dishes and desserts. A premium selection of wine and spirits located around the plazas will compliment this early evening dining experience. The Grand Tasting is a truly unforgettable evening – combining fine food and drink together with live music, cooking and artist demonstrations, while experiencing one of the most breathtaking mountain resorts in the country. SURPRISE FEATURE OF 2008 GRAND TASTING: appearances by Top Chef Season 2 winner Ilan Hall and Top Chef Season 2 finalist Betty Frasier.
